F. Schubert - String Quintet in C major

Download: Bass Part (2nd Cello)

*Note: This is a copy of my performance part with rough annotations. A more formal edition may be put together in the future.

Schubert’s final chamber work was originally scored for two violins, viola, and two cellos. This arrangement substitutes the second cello for double bass. Most melodic material is kept at cello pitch but in selected accompanimental roles the double bass register is used to bring a greater depth to the texture.
